App privacy
This page explains what The Solution app collects, why, and what you can do about it. It covers the iPhone and Android app. Our shop has its own privacy policy.
Your account
You sign in with the email you ordered with. We send a one time code to that email. We use your email to sign you in and to find your tape order, which unlocks the coach. We never use it for marketing from the app.
What you tell us
Your answers when you set up the app (first name, gender, sport, training habits, bedtime, body weight, where you train, sleep and breathing habits), your morning check ins, taped nights, wind downs, Sweat lab sessions, breath score tests and calm down sessions. We use them only to show you your own results and, if you have a tape order, to write your coach notes.
Health and fitness data
If you choose to connect a device, we read the following from Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android), and from a heart rate strap or watch you pair over Bluetooth: sleep, heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, breathing rate, blood oxygen and workouts.
We only read this data. We never write to Apple Health or Health Connect.
We use it only to show you your own features in the app: your Ready score, the comparison between taped and untaped nights, the 14 Night Tape Test, your workout score cards and, if you have a tape order, your coach notes. To do this we store nightly and workout summaries in our database, linked to your account. Raw readings stay on your phone. To write your coach notes, recent summaries are sent, without your email address, to the AI service that writes them (Anthropic), which processes them only to produce your note.
We never sell your health data, never use it for advertising or marketing, and never show it to other members, including in Meetups.
Meetups
If you use Meetups, other members can see your display name, photo if you add one, the area you train in, the sports you follow, the meetups you host or join, and the messages you send in a meetup chat. Meetup places are searched with Google Places, which receives the words you type. You can report or block any member. We remove content and accounts that break the community rules.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, we store your phone's notification token so we can send bedtime reminders and meetup alerts. You can turn them off in the app or in your phone settings.
Location
We do not track your location. Weather in the coach note uses the area you chose, not your device. Older Android phones ask for Location only because Android needs it to find Bluetooth heart rate devices; we never read where you are.
Who processes your data for us
Supabase hosts our database and sign in. Anthropic writes coach notes from your summaries. Google Places powers meetup place search. Expo delivers notifications. Resend sends sign in codes. Shopify runs our shop and tells the app about your order. Each only processes data to provide that service to us.
No ads, no tracking, no selling
The app has no advertising, does not track you across other apps or websites, and we never sell your data.
Deleting your data
Delete your wearable data at any time in the app under Profile, My devices, Disconnect and delete data. Delete your whole account and everything linked to it under Profile, Delete account. To stop the app reading health data, remove The Solution's access in Apple Health or Health Connect on your phone.
Age
The app is for people aged 16 and over.
